Melton Powe was recently recognized for his accomplishments by being named the Cowley College January 2023 Male Athlete of the Month.
Powe is in the midst of a dominating season for the Tiger wrestling team. The freshman from Arkansas went 4-0 at the Jayhawk Duals and recently qualified to compete at the NJCAA Division I National Championship on March 3-4 in Council Bluffs, IA. Powe avenged his lone loss of the season by defeating Pratt Community College’s Christian Robinson in the first-place match at 174 pounds during the NJCAA South Central Regional Qualifier. The welding major has a GPA of 3.33.
Esther Attwood was recently recognized for her accomplishments by being named the Cowley College January 2023 Female Athlete of the Month.
Attwood served as the captain of the Lady Tiger soccer team and was named a First Team all-conference selection after recording two goals and five assists during the 2022 season. The athletic training major has a 3.94-grade point average.
