VYPE recently interviewed Derby’s Talia Ransom to learn more about her life.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My goal for the year is to be accepted into Kansas State Universities’ biology program, along with shadowing at a hospital to get more medical experience.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I had was at the senior celebration seeing everyone happy and having a good time, that’s when it hit that these are our last final moments together as seniors.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My fourth-grade teacher Bruce Hubka from Wineteer Elementary, because he made sure all students were treated equally, made sure we were understanding concepts, and treated us like a family, not in a student-teacher setting.
VYPEE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Freshman year volleyball it was our first tournament and we went undefeated the whole tournament and won.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
From track Isaac Brown has left the biggest impression on the team he is always uplifting kids, and providing motivation to the underclassmen athletes.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being on the team is everyone celebrating each other during races and pushing each other to go harder.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
I would take my friend Vryah Morgan to Hawaii because it is my goal in life to see a black sand beach.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
If I had $500 I would spend the money on my WSU Tech classes I’m taking over the summer.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
No, but I’m in college I plan on doing community service.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
During high school, I’ve been apart of the panther marching band where I’ve created so many memories with everyone. We all spend so much time together like competitions where we are together before the sun rises and after it sets.
VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?
I was a part of the student council during my second semester of senior year.
