VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
Personal goals for the year in the classroom I want to finish with a 3.5 GPA. On the court, I want to average 15 points, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 5 rebounds a game. Another personal goal is to help my team make it back to the 6A state championship game.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I had last year was playing in the 6A state playoffs and then making the 6A state championship game.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher at Derby would be Mr. Frazee. His class is always fun, he’s a good teacher, and he always talks about basketball and asks how I’m doing in daily.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic moment would have to be when we beat Blue Valley in double overtime of the state Final Four and advance to the 6A state championship game.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Addy Brown would be the teammate who has left the biggest impression on me. We’re friends off the court and on the court, she always pushes me to be the best I can be. Addy is like having an older sister on the court. We’ve known each other for years, which makes our bond as teammates solid.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being on this team is the bond that we have, and we play together as a team. We all understand our roles. We’re teammates on the court and really friends off the court. As a group, we hang around each other and have fun together, which makes our team Bond that much stronger.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
If I could pick any place to vacation for the summer, I would definitely go to the Bahamas and bring my squad (Addy, Jaden, Kyler, Bianka, Naomi, Kallie, Maliyah, and Maddie ).
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
I would take half of the money and go to Five Below in Derby and buy a bunch of $5 blankets and pass those blankets out to the homeless in Wichita. Then I take the other half of that money and buy my parents and my grandparents gifts as a token of appreciation for all they do for me.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
Yes, I help with a domestic violence awareness walk for the past 5 years all done by volunteers to raise awareness and honor victims from that year. I also help the less fortunate and homeless by getting food donated as well as serving food when needed. It’s one of my passions to help those who are less fortunate than myself. I’ve participated in many community service projects around law enforcement and the community. One of the other community service projects I enjoy doing collect items for bags through ICTSOS that go to victims of Human Trafficking.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
No, I do not participate in any clubs or groups for the school because I like to focus on my academics and basketball, working out, training, and lifting weights.
