3 Questions with Adisyn Igo
VYPE: What does it mean to you to be a person of good character on and off the court?
Igo: I believe factors of a person of good character consist of accountability, respect, and integrity. All of these will make you better person on and off the court. Being accountable and showing up to practice every day with the right mindset and wanting to get better will help you be successful in life. Having respect for your coaches, teammates, and everyone around you so you can build trust between one another is a huge factor of good character. Integrity will help develop a leader as staying honest and doing the right thing even when nobody is watching can build good character.
VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete at Derby High School?
Igo: One thing I love most about being a student-athlete at Derby High School is being involved and making lifelong friends out of sports. Every year there are different people on the team, and you get to build a bond with someone you never would’ve thought to talk to.
VYPE: If you were stranded on an island, who are three people you would want there with you?
Igo: I would choose my dad, Jason Igo, because he’d help me with survival needs. I would want Kendall Forbes [Senior at Bishop Carroll High School] to be there to provide strength and faith during that challenging time. My third person would have to be Russel Schrock for support and encouragement.
