Derby’s Lily Waters – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by WSU Tech

Lily Waters, a volleyball player for the Derby Panthers shared a few of her goals with VYPE in a recent interview. Saying “my personal goals for next year are to maintain my GPA above a 3.6 and start my college career, trying to get a scholarship for volleyball and academics.”

Along the way, Waters has had fun making memories telling us “the most fun I’ve had is going to KU camp with my high school volleyball team because we have a lot of bonding time and it’s fun to play with each other before the season starts.”

She also shared that “my favorite athletic memory is during club season when our team would travel to Kansas City and play in big tournaments because it was fun to experience playing in huge buildings with hundreds of teams playing at once.”

Outside of volleyball Waters participates in “student to student to welcome and build new relationships with students.” She also does “community service with my church, picking up trash and doing volunteer work such as babysitting. I also do volunteer work around the school with student to student, picking up trash and helping with concessions.”
