
VYPE spoke with Derby Football player Mason Hopper to discuss his goals for the year.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goal this year is to improve as a player and a person on and off the field.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I’ve had in the last year is hanging out with the seniors at our senior retreat.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher would have to be my second grade teacher Mrs. Wilson because she made school fun and continued to be a role model for me as I grew up.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory is starting my first varsity game against Newton my sophomore year and making the first tackle in the game.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Miles Wash is a huge role model for me and has helped me grow as a players and a person and how to work for what you want.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being on the team is the family feeling I get when we are on the field everyone helps each other and it’s a fun atmosphere.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
I would go to colorado and I would bring my family and friends.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
I would probably spend the 500$ on parts for my truck.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I do community service projects with the team and I’m involved in the derby wrestling club to help coach the younger kids.
